Parent-Child Interaction (PCI) Feeding Scale

Alissa Copeland, MA, Parent-Child Interaction Scales Instructor

The Parent-Child Interaction (PCI) Feeding Scale is a valid and reliable clinical assessment tool used across disciplines working with parents/caregivers and their infants. The PCI Feeding Scale training will not only teach you how to use this assessment tool, but you’ll also learn a cohesive set of observable behaviors that will change your view of parent-infant relationships. The observational skills you’ll gain provide a strengths-based lens to view the relationship, and identifiable behaviors to look for when assessing preverbal infants and their parents/caregivers. Upon successful completion of this training you will be certified to use this clinical tool, which can support the diagnosis of young children and guide your intervention. This training is being offered at no cost by the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Workforce Collaborative (IECMH-WC) to mental health providers serving children birth to five enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid). You can find more free trainings on our IECMH Workshops webpage, or sign up for updates from the IECMH-WC about more training opportunities and workforce supports here.
